Update Agent Configuration

 
 
 

You can update a number of the agent settings at anytime after the agent is installed and identified. This can be achieved in two ways:

The following settings can be updated.

  • Name - the name of the Agent.
  • Bandwidth throttling - setting to control upload bandwidth consumed by the Agent.
  • AppAssure Core Details - the IP address, port, and Windows credentials used by the AppAssure Core server
  • Workspace path - a drive or folder that the Agent can store transient data related to each backup.

Update Agent Configuration via WebApp

  1. Login to rCloud.
  2. Navigate to the Agents tab.

  3. Click on the name of the agent (not the drop down arrows).

  4. On the configurations screen click EDIT at the bottom left of the screen.
  5. Update the configuration as follows:

    • In the Bandwidth Throttling section enter the low and high bandwidth period start times and limits in Kbps using 24 hour clock format as shown below.
    • Optionally, check the Use high bandwidth during weekends box to allow the agent to use the high bandwidth setting all day Saturday and Sunday.
    • In the AppAssure Core Details field enter the IP address, port (if different from the default), and Windows credentials of the Core server where you will be installing the agent. If the machine is on a domain, enter the username in the formate "DOMAIN\username" or "username@domain.local".
    • Enter an Agent workspace path. This must be on a local drive/path. The Agent uses this space during each backup. The Agent will need a minimum of 5% of the total protected volume sizes (e.g. a total 1TB of disk space on the protected machine(s) will require 50GB of workspace).

  6. Click SAVE.

Update Configuration via the Tray Icon
  1. Right click on the rCloud Agent Tray Monitor icon and click Configure Settings.

  2. Log in with your Accelerite credentials.

  3. Click EDIT at the bottom of the screen.

    NOTE: Be sure to Click Save at the bottom of the screen when you are done (depending on your screen resolution you may have to scroll down to see it).

    • In the Bandwidth Throttling section enter the low and high bandwidth period start times and limits in Kbps using 24 hour clock format as shown below.
