User verification e-mail not sent

I installed CPBM 1.4 and can successful login.

Used following mail settings in cloud.properties file:
vmops.mail.protocol=smtp
vmops.mail.host=smtp.gmail.com
vmops.mail.port=465
vmops.mail.username=cpbm2012@gmail.com
vmops.mail.password=******

Added an e-mail address under service account --> root user --> e-mail addresses --> additional alert email

When trying to verify I never get an e-mail in the mentioned e-mail account?

Any idea how to troubleshoot?

Hi Christian,

I believe gmail needs smtps. Could you try with that as the protocol?

But to answer your question 'How to troubleshoot'. In the logs you should see the smtp communication with gmail logged (if java mail debug is on), and this should at least provide a hint as to what's going wrong.

Hi, I have the same issue and I never to get email from the portal

Here is my settings :

vmops.mail.protocol=smtp
vmops.mail.host= (Internal Email Server IP)
vmops.mail.port=25
vmops.mail.username= (no user name required)
vmops.mail.password= (no password required)

The cloudportal server was able to communicate with the email server via telnet, Any idea how to troubleshoot?
