ESX Cluster Support
A single agent may be installed to manage a single vCenter instance, protecting up to a maximum of 15 servers. In this configuration, all hosts managed by this vCenter instance are managed by a single agent .
If vCenter Server is not used, an agent must be installed on each host and will only protect machines on that host. In this configuration moving machines between hosts is not supported.
Agents should not be moved between hosts
The most recent version of VMware Tools must be installed in each virtual machine managed by rCloud.
The ESX host must have a static IP address
The rCloud vSphere agent will also require a static IP address on the same network as the ESX host
The agent requires outbound network access to the Internet, with DNS resolution support. Specifically, the:
rCloud hosts: *.accelerite.com
IP service address range: 220.127.116.11/24 (18.104.22.168-22.214.171.124)
All of the files related to a virtual machine being backed up must reside in the same folder, on the same datastore
The datastore hosting your virtual machines should have enough free disk space for the creation and deletion of the ESX snapshots used for backups. In the worst case scenario this could require 2 times the total size of any given machine, however that is a very rare case. To understand how snapshots work and snapshot deletion, please review the vmware knowledgebase.
IPv6 is not supported
