ConVirt Enterprise / ConVirt Enterprise Cloud Trial

1.1 Pre-Requisites
This section contains prerequisites for conducting a Trial of ConVirt. It has some general prerequisites as well as some platform specific prerequisites.
1.1.1 General
- Connection to internet
- Compute servers
- Computer to install ConVirt or virtualization platform to run ConVirt Appliance.
- Check out Support Matrix for ConVirt.
- Installation Media : Some .iso files to test out creating new VM and doing installation.
1.2 Hyper-V Platform
- Managed Servers (Hyper-V) : 2 Servers with fresh install of Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012-R2. With PowerShell remoting enabled.
- NICS : 2 Nics. One for management and another for creating VM on isolated network. (For non-cloud, single nic might suffice)
- Windows Proxy Server : Windows 2012 / Windows 2012 R2 virtual machine in the same domain as managed server. Should be able to run powershell command to managed server
- ConVirt Virtual Machine : : Some resources on your servers to run ConVirt virtual Machine Appliance.
Following required only for Cloud Edition testing.
- Network Service : Only required for Cloud Edition. One additional server or VM to be used as network service : with Ubuntu 12.04 or CentOS 5.x/6.x. This can be a virtual machine, with connectivity to
- Management Network (to access)
- Isolated network (for VM)
- Public network (where the isolated VM may be made accessible via public IP)
- VLAN IDs: A set of free VLAN Ids.
- Public IPs : Few Ips on public networks to allocate to virtual machines.

1.3 Xen/KVM Platform

1.4 VMWare vSphere Platform
This section refers to standalone vSphere environment. For environments involving vCenter, please refer to appropriate section.
- Managed Servers : 2 or Servers with fresh install of one of the platform in Support Matrix.

1.5 VMWare vCenter Platform
This section refers to vCenter environment. For managing vSphere environments NOT involving vCenter, please refer to appropriate section.
- vCenter : Test vCenter deployment.
