While I will try to answer this, I do believe that this isn't the right forum for this kind of question and I may not be the right person to comment on such.

There are two major open source Cloud Orchestrator software in the market today - OpenStack and CloudStack.

Both these projects are community driven and hence not owned by any particular corporate firm.

Citrix has over a period of time invested in both the projects and still continues to do so. It is true that at the moment Citrix has bit more focus on CloudStack project but that really doesn't translate to "competing with OpenStack".

Citrix is a big time supporter of open source technologies and would essentially leverage such technologies as much as possible for delivering its products and services. The goal is always to make it simpler, easier and flexible for the user.
