Snapshots - Instance vs. Disk

So I'm looking for a little clarification here.   I can take a snapshot of an instance (as long as the disks associated with it do not have their own snapshots.) But, I can't schedual an Instance Snapshot.    I can schedual a disk snapshot, but I don't see where I can revert an instance back to that snapshot.

What am I missing here?   What would be the proper way to user a disk snapshot to revert back to that state?

Neil, you can't revert back to a volume/disk snapshot. Look at volume snapshots as backups. You could restore from the back by creating a template from volume snapshot and then creating a VM from that template.

You have revert to snapshot functionality with VM snapshots. But you can't schedule a VM snapshot.

With the current releases of CCP, VM snapshots and Volume snapshots cannot co-exists, that is, you could only use one of the functionality with a VM/Disk.

This limitation is being addressed in the upcoming major ACS release and should be incorporated in CCP shortly after.

Somesh,

Thank you for clearing that up for me!    I would be very nice to also have the ability to schedual Instance Snapshots in the future.
