Enable CloudPlatform Error

Hello all,

We are trying to install new version of CloudPortal using below.
CloudStack-3.0.6-1
CloudPortal-2.0.0-1

We followed the install procedure as described in
http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/ccpb-20-map/ccpb-install.html

There was no error in installation of CloudPortal.
But when we try to enable CloudPlatform using CloudPortal GUI, the attached error shows up.

Any suggestion and check points please?

Regards,
Thura Minn Minn

Enable CloudPlatform Error

Hi Thura,

Regarding your reply in my post - you're correct, I haven't experienced the same issues as you.

The error I'm getting is "Service Instance could not be created." which seems to indicate a business-logic level error in the app, whereas the error you're getting looks more like a Tomcat or Java level error.

I'm no expert in this area at all, but the only thing that may be of use to you is that I installed CPBM on a Linux server with no Java installed, so the CPBM install routine detected this and downloaded Java 6 and then created the JAVA_HOME details; I wonder if you're encountering a problem due to a more recent version of Java already installed on the server that CPBM is using?

Hope this helps, i could be miles off...!
Cheers,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your advice.

My server is CentOS 6.3 with no Java preinstalled.
CPBM installer downloaded and installed the java below.
java version "1.6.0_24"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.11.9) (rhel-1.57.1.11.9.el6_4-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode)

Could you tell me your java version on CPBM?
Are you sure that there is no other error on your CPBM other than "Service Instance could not be created."?

Thanks,
Thura Minn Minn
