cloudplatform 3.0.6.1 template and Iso

Hi there
im testing a trial version of cloudplatform
everything seems working fine
just one question
template and iso's can be add to the cloud management console
but how to add those?
for iso i guess you just need to add the ip address of the server where i store the iso's
for the template there is a way to download template ?

thanks

Dom

cloudplatform 3.0.6.1 template and Iso

Hi Dom,

just one question
template and iso's can be add to the cloud management console
but how to add those?

--> You need to setup a webserver and host the templates and ISO's on it. And then upload them to CloudPlatform using the URL ( see the admin guide for details on this).

Note: Make sure that the global configuration secstorage.allowed.internal.sites is set to allow the template download from the internal webserver.

Thanks,
Prashanth

---> You mean to say to are using the CP management server as webserver? Then can you try to stop the iptables on the management server and see if that resolves the issue ( you may also add an iptable rule to allow access to webserver on the management server).

Note: The template/ISO is downloaded by the SSVM running for the zone. You can login into SSVM and check if you wget the file from the webserver.

hi there
yes i ment using the CP management server as webserver for the iso.
i tried to stop the iptables no joy ,same issue
also i connected to the ssvm and the wget of the iso file failed with the message

Connecting to xxxxxxxxxx:xx... failed: No route to host.

very strange on the practice guide they were saying to use the CP management server as webserver to add iso
but seems is not that easy

regards

Dom

Did you restart the management server after changing the secostorage.allowed.internal.sites?

Do you see any static route to the network defined in secstorage.allowed.internal.sites on the SSVM?

Say you have set secstorage.allowed.internal.sites to 10.0.0.0/8 then you will see a static route to 10.0.0.0/8 network through eth1 of SSVM.

The routes get programmed into SSVM when it is starting, so you may try to stop/start the SSVM from CloudPlatform UI to see if the issue gets resolved.

Hi Dom,

HTTP status 404 means the file wasn't found. Check again and type in the correct URL. Once you've typed in the URL, the ISO will be downloaded and then "installed".

If the file is being fetched from a linux web server, don't forget filenames are case sensitive.

I'm not 100% about what you're talking about but it sounds like an IIS problem ;) Happy you got it working, enjoy!
