How to change CPBM root password?

We are trialling CPBM and installation went fine. We can login to root account using the default password. However, we get an error page when we tried to navigate to the MyProfile page. Can anyone help me with this?

ps . We can create new Service Provider users and their profile pages work just fine. The problem only happens with the Root account profile.

Much appreciated

J

How to change CPBM root password?

Hi John,

Which version of CPBM in use? Can you please add a screenshot of the error message? Did you change encryption key at point?

Abhisek,

I used the latest version downloaded from the Citrix download section. However, we have decided to reinstall bot CloudPlatform and CloudPortal. One question, we noticed the MySQL database for both products are called "Cloud". Can both product's databases be installed on the same MySQL server (seperate server)?

We would really appreciate if you could even give me an idea of the proper steps to incorporate CloudPlatform, CloudPortal and XenServers. Should we get CloudPlatform working with XenServer Pool first; then install CloudPortal Business Manager?

Many thanks

John

Hello John,

Good to know that you are going to use the whole eco system of cloud orchestration componenets of Citrix. This will help to get maximum benefit out of these related compoenents.

Coming to the technical part, we recommend running MySQL on a dedicated server (separated from Cloud Platform Management Server and CloudPortal Business Management Server). The databases for Cloud Platform are cloud, cloud_usage and cloudbridge while those for CloudPortal Business Manager are cloud_portal, cloud_reports and cloud_portalmq. All these databases can reside on a single MySQL server.

Yes, in order to completly configure CloudPortal Business Manager we need a runnning Cloud Platform server (which in turn needs Hypervisor like XenServer pool etc.), so ensure that CloudPlatform working with XenServer Pool first working properly; then install CloudPortal Business Manager.

Let us know if there is any follow-up query here.

Regards,

I have finally got the chance to install CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager. So far I have successfully installed CloudPlatform and it is all working.

However, when I tried to installed CPBM. I received error saying CPBM does not support Centos 6.7. Now I am stuck as the MySQL server and CloudPlatform Manager Server are both on 6.7

When will CPBM support 6.7? What would you suggest me to do? Install CPBM on another server?

Thanks

John

Hello John,

Thanks for the update. Good to know the progress.

As far as CPBM service installation is concern, it needs a separate machine (not the same one where CloudPlatform is running). However for the putting the CPBM's databases (cloud_portal etc.), you may use the MySQL server that already has CloudPlatform related databases (cloud, cloud_usage etc.).
