Which CloudPlatform version support XenServer 6.2 hosts?
I have 3 Primary Storage (NFS) in my configuration. One needs to be replaced ASAP. When I try to migrate the VM's and Volumes from this Primary Storage to another using the UI the transfer fails, because of too many nfs errors. I have all of the data backed up. Currently this Primary Storage is in Maintenance Mode.
Is it possible to get another NFS server on the network with the same IP and Cancel Maintenance Mode?
Has anyone tried that before and was succesfull in changing Primary Storage NFS server, while keeping the same IP ?
I have a question regarding VPC.
I want to throttle bandwidth between the internet and the VPC Network, i do not want to throttle
the bandwiddth between the serveren in the vpc Network.
I know how to throttle the bandwidth on normal routers, but how do i do it on a VPN internet router, as i am not able to choose the Network router. ?
I do however have the possibility to choose the Network router when i define the vpc Network (tier).
- hope sombdy can help me with this..
Here's the deal. I did set up of CloudPlatform using a basic zone and the only thing that's missing right now is to access the console from my virtual machines using an external IP address.
I already know that when accessing internally the console proxy redirects everything. But how do I do it externally?
I am trying to create a instance in CP but it is showing the error "Unable to create a deployment for VM[User|45e73393-d510-4ffb-b6c0-4dd7197ad49d]"
I am using CloudPlatform version 184.108.40.20630724165251

Anyone have ideas how to make the Seconday Storage available to a public network/Internet?
I know this is a security req...but nevertheless but integration with services already in place with repositories available on the Internet would be cool...
When deleting VMs are there any limitations with regards doing this from vCenter? For example with VMware vCloud or VMware View environments, deleting VMs managed by these should not be done through vCenter. Is this the same for Cloudstack/Openstack? Are there any documents that I can reference?
Any special steps to take when upgrading a XenServer pool used by CloudPlatform? There's a rolling pool upgrade but upgrading each individual node one by one seems safer. Info about the rolling pool upgrade indicates that "VMs will be migrated off the host before it's upgraded". My concern is, will the migration of the VM away from the host somehow cause problems with CloudPlatform? Will CP just accept that the instance migrated away from that host and update its information or will it cause some kind of problem because the action wasn't initiated through the CloudPlatform API?
this had properbly been asked before - I can not find it though.
Can i just change from Citrix to Apache, what are the differance, do citrix still develop to
cloudstack, and are there a reson to choose Citrix's version.
We are using citrix cloudstack at tho moment, but are thinking of changing the platform..
Thanks in advance
I created a template in xenserver with windows server 2008 r2, and now i am trying to deploy a new instance with thie template but i am getting the following error in catalina.out. There is no stacktrace.
INFO [api.commands.DeployVMCmd] (Job-Executor-22:job-47) com.cloud.exception.InsufficientServerCapacityException: Unable to create a deployment for VM[User|wind2k8]Scope=interface com.cloud.dc.DataCenter; id=1
WARN [cloud.api.ApiDispatcher] (Job-Executor-22:job-47) class com.cloud.api.ServerApiException : Unable to create a deployment for VM[User|wind2k8]
I tryed to create the instance with windows 2008 r2 from ISO, but I got the same error.
I can create instance normally with debian and CentOs.
We have a problem...Trying to install the db on separate node and using RHEL 6.3 and the MySQL.
We get error when trying to install with the cloud-setup-database script: Access Denied
We get error when trying to connect remotely to the MySQL db also:
error 1045 (28000) access denied for user
We have tried skip grant tables command and then we can connect ..BUT not install because there is some check on this "safe mode" (which is good cause you need to have a pwd, of course)
Does anyone have any input on this?
I am not an MySQL guru ..and have googled this for a day now ;)
I am trying to create a new instance from a template in cloud plataform 3.03 and I am getting tehe following error in catalina.out
--Unable to apply dhcp entry on router ...
Should I have a dhcp server?
On a CloudPlatform 3.0.6, no patches, I have an advanced zone where I need to use as secondary storage a NFS share published from a Windows 2012 machine through NFS File Share services.
The NFS share is on a disk with 2.8TB total and 2.7TB available free space, however CloudPlatfom reports only 2GB total size. If I directly mount the same Windows NFS share to the management server or directly to the XenServer, df -h command reports correctly total and available space of 2.7TB. Because of the 2GB limit, CloudPlatform can't load any template.
How can I make CloudPlatform to correctly see all available space?
- CloudPlatform 3.0.6 base
- Hypervisor: XenServer 6.1, hotfixes up to 026
- Management and Mysql servers: CentOS 6.4
- NFS Shares: on Windows Server 2012 Standard
I cant find a list of the CCP limits for hosts, vms and so on. Here is a blog I found:
There it is said, that the maximum supported CCP 3.0.6 installation consists of 30.000 hosts with 4 management servers. In a slide from Citrix I read, that with a single management server node I can manage up to 5.000 hosts. Now I am confused ... Can I manage up to 5000 or 7500 hosts with one management server in a CCP 3.0.6 installation? And then I need to know what the maximum vm count is in a CCP 3.0.6 installation. Is there a support article or other document, that lists those maximums/limits?
This is an example for what I am looking for from VMware:
If i can get the supported limits for hosts, vms and management servers in a CCP 3.0.6 installation i would be glad already.
Problem - We are not able to view the default security groups or the user created security groups in the Network offerings while adding an Instance.
Scenario - We added a Basic Zone with network offering as "DefaultSharedNetworkOfferingWithSGService" so that we can use security groups options. After downloading the templates and creating security groups, we tried to create an instance with the security groups created, but the list of security groups are not available.
didnt find any errors in the management-server.log
have also attached screenshots
Do we have to enable any other option to use the security groups?
Can anyone guide us in resolving this problem?
I have finished the trial install, logged into the UI and started the initial config of the Cloud trial. I was able to enter the Zone, Cluster, POD and storage information. Finally, I was able to enter the information for the host, which for me is Xenserver 6.2. I enter the IP address (which is pingable) username (root) and password, then select "Launch" on the following screen. Everything appears to be configuring except the host where I receive the message "Unable to Add Host". I checked the /var/log/cloud/management/management-server.log and the access log, but could not find any errors. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I m using CCP , and added a cluster with 2 hosts which has VMware hypervisor.
Now CCP creates 3 internal VM's : Virtual Router VM , Console Proxy VM and System Storage VM.
When I m adding an instance the virtual router VM is restarting and saying
"Warning message from <ipaddress>: No operating system was found. If you have an operating system installation disc, you can insert the disc into the system's CD-ROM drive and restart the virtual machine."
Through vSphere Client console of the virtual router VM if i check also it also displays "No Operating System"
The Virtual Router VM is created by CCP only, then y isnt it able to get the OS?
Kindly guide me as to what i m doing wrong?
As per the Citrix Cloudplatform admin guide, a XenServer cluster can have a maximum of 8 hosts. I'm going to go ahead and configure a new cluster for the 9th host I'd like to add. Does this mean I need to create a new XenServer pool or can I keep adding servers to my existing pool? How about the XenServer pool itself, any limit to the number of servers I should add to it? TIA.
I added a new host to the cluster without first configuring the storage network and of course the host failed to connect to the secondary storage and reported such under "General Alerts" on the CP dashboard. I'm wondering if I can' just destroy the current SRs on the host and CP will re-create them or what other steps do I need to take?
What is the CloudPlatform "Campo" release date or even approximate release date?
Will the Campo release include support for VM instances to have multiple IP addresses?
Using this in a live environment is easy in the beginning, but as you grow it's incredibly difficult to find things.
As an admin I go in and see an Account. I can't see which VMs this Account has.
If I go to Instances, I have to know what the label of the VM is to find it. I can't search by Account name.
If I go to Networks, I can randomly scroll down the list by Account holder, but I can't search by Account name.
If I need to find the Virtual router, I can't search by Account name. I have to open every vrouter property to find the one that I want. If I have over 20 this is a long process.
Should I not be able to search by account name (user) and find all the resources assigned to this person? Better yet, have this all on one screen for the CloudStack admin.
Under the software router I can reboot it, shut it down, recreate it but that's it.
How do you change the current service offering that is assigned to it? I have already created software router plans, I just need to be able to change the assigned one.
Also, there does not appear to be a way to move the virtual router between storage devices. Is this possible?
I just want to hear if anybody are using some kind of billing system for Cloudplatform 3.0.6/3.0.7.
I know there is Cloud Platform Business manager 1.4/2.0, but are there other out there
anybody have some nice Excel sheets.. - LOL
I had created an instance using Windows 7 os and was trying to access it through the "View Console" option in the cloud platform. The problem that I face is I m not able to access the windows GUI using the mouse pointer but with the keyboard i m able to.
what should i do to access the UI using the mouse pointer?
I m searching for templates which will contain OS + applications and configurations.
Can anyone suggest from where i can download such templates?
I will using this to import into my Cloud Portal setup with 2 host machines.
im testing a trial version of cloudplatform
everything seems working fine
just one question
template and iso's can be add to the cloud management console
but how to add those?
for iso i guess you just need to add the ip address of the server where i store the iso's
for the template there is a way to download template ?
as the admin user I can migrate VMs to other hosts. If I'm logged in as a normal user, I don't have this option. Is there a way to migrate VMs as user or domain-admin? Or is this only applicable by the admin user?
