Networks
In the Networks tab, you see a list of networks offered by your service provider.
In the Details pane, you see the following details:
Network: The name of the network.
Zone: The zone in which this network resides; determined by your service provider.
ID: ID of the network.
Name: A descriptive name to help you identify the network
Type: If it a shared or isolated network.
VLAN: Information about the virtual local area network.
Gateway: Gateway used.
Netmask: Netmask in use on the subnet.
Network Domain: Domain where the network is available.
Domain: Domain to which the account belongs.
Account: User account.
Subscriptions tab
Click the Subscriptions tab to view the details of the subscription associated with the network. The ID is the UUID of the subscription. The 'View Details' link displays the included entitlements. The name of the subscription links to the subscription in the Subscriptions page.
Network ACL List tab
Click on the Network ACL List tab to view the details of the ACL supported. You can replace the existing ACL using the Replace ACL option by clicking on the gear wheel icon. In the "Replace ACL" dialog box, select the desired ACL and click Replace.
Note: This feature is supported from CloudPlatform 4.2.x onwards.
Adding a network
Network offerings:
The following network offerings are the supported network offerings and are visible in the UI:
- Network offering that has VPC enabled:
It must have the following:
- SourceNat service is present.
- Isolated network offering.
- Network offering that has VPC disabled (non-VPC network offering):
It must have the following:
- SourceNat service is present.
- Isolated network offering.
- Converse mode is true.
To add a new network, follow these steps:
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager UI as a user.
- Click My Services and select the CloudPlatform service instance.
- Click Manage Resources.
- In the Networks tab, click Add New.
- Specify the following (some details are optional):
- Network name: Name for the network
- Network Desc: Description of the network
- Zone: Zone to which the network will be added
- Network Offering: Network offering to use for the network
- Gateway: Gateway to be used
- Netmask: The netmask in use on the subnet
- Network Domain: Domain where the network will be available
- Select the check box to accept the terms and conditions and click OK.
Note: For VPC network offerings with Public LB providers, only those VPCs, that are currently not being used by a network offering with public LB providers, are visible.
Editing a network
To edit a network, follow these steps:
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager UI as a user.
- Click My Services and select the CloudPlatform service instance.
- Click Manage Resources.
- In the Networks tab, select the network that you want to edit.
- Place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel), and click Edit Network or click the Edit Network icon.
- Make the changes as required.
- Click OK.
Deleting a network
To delete a network, follow these steps:
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager UI as a user.
- Click My Services and select the CloudPlatform service instance.
- Click Manage Resources.
- In the Networks tab, select the network that you want to delete.
Note: The system provides an option to terminate the associated subscription. If you choose to terminate the subscription as well then the subscription will be in the expired state else it will be Active(Unused).
- Click Confirm.
Filtering networks
Users can view their networks and filter them by VPC and non-VPC network types.
To filter networks, follow these steps:
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager UI as a user.
- Click My Services and select the CloudPlatform service instance.
- Click Manage Resources.
- In the Networks tab, specify your filter criteria: non-VPC networks ot VPCs.
Internal Load Balancer
CloudPortal Business Manager will be able to use an internal load balancer to be used within a VPC tier and use load balancer to assign VMs. This feature is supported from CloudPlatform 4.2 onwards. An admin user creates a network offering with LB type "Internal LB" on CloudPlatform. As a user, you can create a new VPC tier (network) from this network offering on CPBM. You can add instances to this network or select this network when launching an instance. Once an internal LB is added, you can assign VMs to it. You must click the Internal LB tab in the CPBM UI to view the details of the internal LB associated with the VPC tiers.
Note: To have the internal LB support on a VPC, you must have a network offering of "Internal LB" type.
To add an Internal LB to an existing VPC Tier
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager as a user.
- Click My Services.
- Click Manage Resources link of the service instance.
- In the Networks tab, select the required VPC tier from the left pane.
- Place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel), and click Add Internal LB.
- In the Add Internal LB dialog box that appears, specify the required details.
- Click OK.
To delete an Internal LB from an existing VPC Tier
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager as a user.
- Click My Services.
- Click Manage Resources link of the service instance.
- In the Networks tab, select the required VPC tier from the left pane.
- For the Internal LB that you want to delete, place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel) and click Delete Internal LB.
- Click Confirm.
To assign VMs to Internal LB of a VPC tier
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager as a user.
- Click My Services.
- In the Networks tab, select the required VPC tier from the left pane.
- For the required Internal LB, place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel) and click Assign VMs.
- In the dialog box that appears, select the checkbox adjacent to the VM that you want to assign.
- Click OK.
The VM instances will be for the particular internal LB will be separated by commas with links to the particular VM.
To remove VMs from Internal LB of a VPC tier
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager as a user.
- Click My Services.
- Click Manage Resources link of the service instance.
- In the Networks tab, select the required VPC tier from the left pane.
- For the required Internal LB, place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel) and click Remove VMs.
- In the dialog box that appears, select the checkbox adjacent to the VM that you want to remove.
- Click OK.
Searching and filtering networks
The Networks tab lists all networks. As a master user/power user/normal user, you can find a particular network/networks by using the search and filter options. The option to search and filter is visible in the CPBM UI only if the CloudPlatform Connector version supports search and filter operations for networks.
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager UI as master user/power user/normal user.
- Either click My Services and then click the desired CloudPlatform service instance tab or click Manage Resources and then click the desired CloudPlatform service instance link.
- Click the Networks tab.
- In the Search box, specify the network name and click Enter.
- To filter the list of networks:
- Click the Filter icon.
- Select any or all of the filter options such as networks, zone, and type, and select the desired filter parameter from the dropdown list.
- Click Go!.
