Specifying the channel look and feel (branding) settings
As a service provider, you can allow reseller or channel-specific branding. You can alter the appearance of a channel by using stylesheets, logos, and favicons so that the CPBM UI represents the look and feel of the reseller brand instead of the service provider.
Note: Before you upload the stylesheets, logos, and favicons, modify the images.uploadPath setting to the appropriate destination. This is the absolute path to the images directory for storing custom image logos, favicons, and so on. In a multinode environment, this path should be accessible from all the CPBM nodes.
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager as Root user.
- Click the drop-down menu icon in the top right corner next to ROOT USER.
- Click Administration > Configuration > Portal.
- Click Settings > Configure.
- Click Edit.
- Modify images.uploadPath setting to the appropriate destination. Ensure that you have the necessary read and write permissions on the directory mentioned here.
- Click Save and then, click Close.
- Log in to CloudPortal Business Manager as Root user.
- Click Channels.
- Select the channel whose look and feel settings you want to edit.
- Click the Look and Feel tab in the lower pane.
- Place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel), and click Edit.
- To specify or change the CSS file for the channel, browse to the appropriate CSS file and upload it.
- To specify or change the logo for the channel, browse to the logo file and upload it.
- To specify or change the favicon for the channel, browse to the favicon file and upload it.
- Click Save. You are now in the preview mode. At any time you can exit the preview mode by clicking the exit link at the top right corner. An icon appears next to the channel name in the left pane that indicates you have made changes to the look and feel of the channel. The changes that you have made take effect only when you publish them. Two links are displayed in the Look and Feel tab: Current and Unpublished.
You can click the links to see the CSS, logo, and favicon currently specified for the channel and the unpublished changes. Wherever the defaults are used, the word default is displayed in parenthesis next to the file name.
- Click Unpublished. The tab displays details such as the name of the CSS file, the logo, and the favicon. The Preview Link moves you to the preview mode. The Anonymous Preview Link logs you out and allows you to preview the anonymous pages with the look and feel (branding) changes.
- If you are satisfied with the look and feel of the channel, publish the changes:
- Click Unpublished. If you have exited the preview mode, select the channel and click Look and Feel > Unpublished.
- Place the cursor over the manage icon (that looks like a gear wheel), and click Publish.
