Connector Usage Types
- Hosted Exchange Customer Plan Usage:
To create a Product for a Hosted Exchange Customer Plan and charge for it, select 'Hosted Exchange Customer Plan' as Usage Type, and use the mediation rule to narrow it down to the specific 'Hosted Exchange Customer Plan'. The unit for this usage type is discrete and is calculated on a 'Per Billing Period' basis.
- Hosted Exchange User Plan Usage:

- DNS Service Usage: To create a Product for a 'DNS Service' and charge for it, select 'DNS Service' as Usage Type. The unit for this usage type is discrete and calculated on a 'Per Billing Period' basis.
The usage above are charged on a discrete "Named Users" per billing period basis. So, if a user A subscribes to a user plan, the count of the specific user plan usage is incremented by 1 for that tenant for that billing period independent of how many days the user A's user plan is active during that billing period. At the beginning of each billing period, CPBM updates the inventory of the current users subscribed to different plans/offerings and then updates the count accordingly each day based on new subscriptions being made.
