Accelerite Acquires Convirture
Solution Delivers Freedom to Choose Any Hypervisor or Cloud Platform with Single-Pane-of-Glass Lifecycle Management for Today’s Hybrid Datacenters
SANTA CLARA, Calif., JUNE 16, 2015 – Accelerite, a leading provider of software for IT infrastructure, mobile, and cloud solutions to some of the largest enterprises in the world, today announced it has acquired Convirture, a unified management provider for virtualization and cloud environments. Through the companies’ combined technologies, Accelerite will offer enterprises and service providers the freedom to choose and deploy any combination of hypervisors and cloud platforms.
With today’s proliferation of cloud offerings, market research firm IDC reports 67 percent of enterprises expect to utilize two or more major cloud service providers this year. The challenge comes in managing and weaving together these heterogeneous environments as problems can arise in the management, configuration, orchestration, and optimization of the data center and cloud infrastructure.
Accelerite will offer Rovius, the company’s multi-cloud workload management and disaster recovery orchestration software solution, with the powerful unified management platform capabilities in Convirture’s flagship product ConVirt. Accelerite’s cloud solution offering will bring an end-to-end solution to customers looking to streamline management of multi-hypervisor and multi-cloud environments, via a single pane of glass. The solution will enable IT to centrally administer, automate, manage, protect, and orchestrate data workloads and compute infrastructure across multiple virtualization and cloud environments including VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen, Amazon Web Services, and OpenStack.
Accelerite’s Cloud solution comprised of Rovius and ConVirt will enable customers and service providers to:
- Achieve a competitive advantage by pooling and automating heterogeneous infrastructure to enable full lifecycle management functionalities including administration, configuration, disaster recovery, and data workload management
- Manage the complete lifecycle of multiple cloud and hypervisor platforms via a single pane of glass. This empowers IT to orchestrate server pools, storage, networks, and data workloads through a single unified solution
- Gain flexible, service-oriented IT that responds quickly for an agile IaaS to address business needs
Accelerite will also continue to offer ConVirt as an independent offering, and is committed in to ensuring the technology grows and evolves to meet user demands.
"By pairing Convirture’s lifecycle management capabilities with Accelerite’s Cloud solution portfolio, customers will receive the single-pane-of-glass solution they’ve been looking for to streamline their IT management. Together these technologies will provide the one toolset that businesses need to solve the pain point of managing different virtualization and cloud technologies that sooner or later they know they must address.” – Nara Rajagopalan, CEO, Accelerite
“The combination of Convirture products with Accelerite's resources and global reach opens up new doors for us to deliver our virtualization and cloud management solutions to a much wider set of customers. This opportunity goes a long way towards advancing Convirture’s core mission of delivering innovative solutions to anyone facing the pressing need for full-lifecycle workload management in today's hybrid datacenters.” - Arsalan Farooq, CEO, Convirture
