You can use free edition of XenServer with CloudPlatform. I'd recommend working with a Citrix Sales professional to get the details and benefits of each of the combinations.

Hello All,
I'm testing new solution for a private cloud and i'm confused about price for cloud platform , should i purchase both xenserver and cloud platform , or i can use free xenserver and purchase only cloud platform

My understanding is that you received XenServer Enterprise Per-Socket licensing with the purchase of CloudPatform.

Neil is right - you get XenServer Per-Socket licenses with CCP.
If the Xenserver version is 6.2 or 6.5 it should have Licenses applied if you want help from Citrix Technical support ,as support comes only with a purchased license.
But all the features will work except for WLB and installing hotfix from GUI.
