All the out of band operations will result into un expected results.  When we bring any management/orchestration layer on top a hypervisor/infrastructure layer it wouldn't introduce any major changes to its inventory from a lower layer generally, since those would break a lot of things.  

As of now CloudPlatform is not designed to handle  the scenarios in first two questions.

I am not sure how the unitrends backup works.
