Cannot create channels

Hi all,
I set up a cloud portal 2.0 and I have already integrated it with cloud Stack.
Now, I am trying to create a new channel, but this option in unavailable and it is showing this message:

Channel creation is not allowed. Ensure that the reference price book is activated and at least one product is created.
i have already created one product.
Where can I see if reference price book is activated?
Can anyone help me?

How to do Customizaion of User Interface

Hi,

I would like to try to customize some interface for user.(when logged in as user)
e.g removing some links so that users cannot use them.

I unjar the file at /usr/share/vts3/repository/usr/vmops.portal-2.0.0.jar in CPBM server.

And found jsp files only for root user(I think) in vmops.portal-2.0.0\WEB-INF\jsp\tiles

Could anyone tell me what jsp files to edit for customizing some features for user account?

Exposing alternate Network Offerings to CPBM

Hi,

We have a development environment running CPBM 2.0 + CCP 3.0.5 (officially supported version in docs for CPBM 2.0) in Advanced networking.

One of the development tasks I've been given to look into is exposing of NetScaler based networks for Load Balancing to CPBM and then look towards enabling autoscaling

I have created a Network Offering, but in CPBM, when creating a new network, I still only see 'DefaultIsolatedNetworkOfferingWithSourceNat'.

How do I present alternate network offerings as available in CPBM? I am guessing I need to create a product or something since alternate network offerings will need to attract a different utility charge, but I can't see anything obvious for how to do this.

E-mail activation not working issue solved

Hi there,

Just sharing some info.

If any of you guys are having problems with the email activation not working here is the solution.

When you see a log entry like this:

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Use the follwing solution to fix this problem:

Steps:

1. Download security certificate from the smtp server you are sending your email to (in my case a Windows Exchange 2010 server):
Open the URL from IE
You will get a certificate related warning message. Click on view certificate and then Install certificate. Ignore warning messages if gets displayed.
Now go to Tools->’Internet Options’ ->Content->Certificates.
Locate the installed certificate from the list of certificates.
Click “export” button and save it as “DER encoded binary” in somewhere in your PC. And upload it to the /tmp directory of your cloud-portal server.

2. Add certificate to JRE
Open a shell.
Go to “bin” directory of your JRE.

3. Use keytool command as follows to import the certificate to JRE.
keytool -import -alias mycertificate -keystore ../lib/security/cacerts -file /tmp/mycert.cer
It will ask for a password. By default the password is “changeit“.
Here I assume that your certificate is saved as “mycert.cer” in “/tmp/” directory.

4. restart the cloud-portal service.

Hello,

I have just installed CentOS 6.4 64bit on a Xenserver, this is a clean new install,
i just copied the portal tar file unpacked it and installed it.
this went fine, i can login and click in all the fields..

Now to test i just want to create a new catalog, this i am not able to do!!
I have attached the screen. - LOL

I do not know what to do, when i installed this new VM i deleted the databases and recreated them so they were
clean.

I am using the java distribution that the program sugested and installed it self.

What are everybody else running on, and are they using this version ?

Hello

The edocs at http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/ccpb-20-map/ccpb-install.html say that you need to have a MySQL administrator optimize the MySQL installation to improve the performance of the system.

Does anyone have any generic settings that can be used on a typical XenServer/VMware VM with the recommended 4 cores and 8 GB RAM?

Hello everyone (again)

I seem to be going round in circles with Business Manager 2.0

I've finally got the portal to display, but cannot log onto it. Reading this

http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/ccpb-20-map/ccpb-configure-ldap.html

It implies I need to log onto the portal as user 'root' (although there is no 'ROOT USER' in the top right of the portal login page).
When I try logging in as root with the root password of the CentOS system, it prompts me for a reCAPTA validation, and then says invalid user name or password.

I've also tried the MySQL database user account and password, and that also doesn't work.

what's the secret of installing Business Manager 2.0?

Hi Everyone,

cannot seem to get this working.

I've installed CentOS using a downloaded CentOS-6.3-x86_64-minimal.iso onto XenServer 6.1
Configured static IP address
Installed XenTools
Rebooted

Downloaded Business Manager 2.0.1
Installed as per http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/ccpb-20-map/ccpb-install.html
Did not enable Encryption Key for CloudPortal so it should start automatically on reboot

(NOTE: The installation instructions don't fully match up to the prompts presented by the installation script)

After reboot, the /var/run/S80cloud-portal.pid contains a PID that isn't running
the /var/log/cloud/portal directory is empty

I've tried deleting the pid file and restarting with "/etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S80cloud-portal restart" but this doesn't actually work.

Where can I look for errors?

Do I need to install Apache or other web server first? there's nothing in the edocs about this as a prerequisite.

Hello,

I have just reinstalled the server for the 11th time, i have made VERY sure that i have set the parameters correct.

I have Not event set up CloutPlatform Serverices yet.
I have only changed the root password, then i thought i would change smtp address.
so now the system askes me to validate my new mail address..........!!!!!!
i get..... Were sorry, but the page you have requested is not available.

Please tell me somthing good, do i have to wait for somthing scheduled to be done ?

I am using CentOS 6.4 64Bit, is it the operating system there is something wrong with, Which should i use ?

I would like to hear from Citrix, or somebody that have a working installation, because i am clearly not getting CPBM 2.0.0-1 to work. 11 times installed none working.

Please help, is it possible to increase the logging level so it is not only programmers who can read the logs,
can i get more logs, more detail logs, all i see in my log files is error in somthing jave line 22.

Creating producs and bundles evet 24 hours..

Hello,

I know it is by design that you can only change prices and add products/bundles every 24 hours.
but are there a command that i can use to do it immediatly.

The problem is when now when i tests it takes 3 days to create 3 different bundles, i am just sitting and
waiting on midnight, så i can see the changes then when i have done somthing wrong, the 24 hours wait...

And i know you are thinking.... but in tests you do do something wrong... - LOL

Creating a cloudstack service

I have reinstalled my cloudPortal business manager 2.0

Now i can not create a Service to Cloudplatform 3.0.6.

it gives me the error in the attaced file.

if you need more please tell me.

I do have the SSo, APIkey, secret key and the adminip (8096) normal (8080), and the UUID.

but i can not find head or tail in the error message... ????????

Please help, i have used more than 8 hours now...

Hello,

Does anyone know where to find manuals, howtos etc. on hos to use CPBM.
i.e. setting up bundles, configurering prices etc....

I am going through the different options, but i am only allowed to change the prises once a day,
so it is pretty slow work.

when setting prices is the for an hourly reate all the time, then you can set when the billing period is.
say if i have a vm it costs 100 USD, should i put 0.1389 in price at set the billing period to once a month.

If I do not want the system to send a bill to the customer but to a person in finance, how do i do that, or in oher words, i want out accounting to get the numbers from CPBM and billing from our notmal finance system.

I want to get a mail when new custermers signs up.

it is basic questions, but it is pretty difficult when information i very well hidden.

CPBM 2.0 - AD Integration issue with Push

Hey all,

environment - two CPBM 2.0 Hosts, two CCP 3.0.6 Hosts, Active Directory with Domain Level 2008R2.

I tried to setup AD integration with Push Mode. In general, it works now after i configured the LDAP Section of cloud.properties in addition to setting the values under Directory Server (Global configuration).
By the way - why i have to done this twice (Global Settings and cloud.properties)?

iam able to create a channel and the an Organizational Unit will be created under the BASE-DN.

However - the User creation still fails with the following error:

org.springframework.ldap.NoSuchAttributeException: [LDAP: error code 16 - 00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090C3E, comment: Error in attribute conversion operation, data 0, v1db1

So basically, LDAP error code 16 is related to Attributes which are not exists on the target directory. However, i disabled all the related attributes expect Firstname and username to make sure that there is no attribute related error. I also tried to official and default attributes... Still no luck...

Any help is appreciate!

What does this mean, i had an error creating a retail company, then i was not able to delete or continue with
that company so i just used an image of the database server to recover from when the company was not
created. now when i start CPBM i get this:

when creation has gone wrong????

Hi,

I am familiar with the CloudPlatform API using this documentation, http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX136928, however we have CPBM integrated with an instance of CloudPlatform 3.0.6. How would I use the CloudPlatform API to create and manage instances via CPBM as an end user, i.e. a CPBM corporate user?

I also noticed from looking at the db, my api keys are different to what my cloudplatform api keys are. I'm a little confused as to what api keys I should be using.

Can I skip the CPBM api endpoint altogether, and point directly to the cloud platform API endpoint to manage my instances?

Can anyone help please?

removing a company, and activating bundles

Hello,

I have installed CPBM 2.0.1 and it seems to work, allright.
But i have some questions on something i do not understand.

How can i remove/delete/terminate a company that is not activated jey, i have by a mistage created,
a company with the wrong email address.?, and how do i change to primary email, for a company.

When i create a bundle i can activate it for the next day ?, i this by design, and is there a way that
i can activate a bundle faster ?

Are there some manual other than installation, i can read to get a basic knowledge of how CPBM i working..?

Hope somebody can help.

Problems with CPBM 2.0 Installation

Hi everyone,

I have successfully installed Cloud Platform 3.0.6 and it is working fine. Now, I am trying to get CPBM working, but it behaves weirdly... I have a freshly installed CentOS 6.3 x64, and I am installing CPBM 2.0. I've done everything by this manual (http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/ccpb-20-map/ccpb-install.html) but when I am trying to access it via web browser I am getting just a blank screen. Restarting the service and rebooting the machine doesn't help. Iptables are disabled, selinux is in permissive mode. I've tried it two times with exactly the same result - no errors in logs, no errors during installation, but when I am accessing http://my_CPBM_name:8080/portal/ - absolutely nothing is displayd in mozilla. Weirdly, IE gives me 404 error...

I am new to Cloud Portal, so I am out of ideas how to make it work... Any help?

CPBM 2.0 & Cloud Platform 3.0.6 integration

Hi

I have successfully integrated CPBM 2.0 with Cloud Platform 3.0.6.

Facing 2 problems now :
1.
When i click on Launch Cloud Console from 'root' it asks me to enter the username and pass for logging into Cloud Platform UI, but it should get logged in directly into Cloud Platform. Am i missing any more config?
I have entered correct SSO, API Key, Secret Key and Parent Domain Id while configuring connector.
2.
As a end user after registering when i try to deploy VM i.e. Click on 'Configure & Subscribe' any bundle, the screen hangs with 'Loading...'

PFA portal logs while Click on 'Launch Console' as root and 'Configure & Subscribe' as customer.

Also let me know if any more info is needed.

XaaS offerings in CPBM and chargeback

Hey,

where can I find connectors for service offerings for CPBM (except Carringo and Cloudian)? For example, if I want to offer my customers PaaS or SaaS (Exchange, Sharepoint, Lync,...) how can I achieve this using CPBM?
How does this work and how is the usage metered? Will different customers use one VM where a services is hosted? How can actual CPU, RAM, Storage, traffic usage be metered per customer? Or does every cusomer get an exclusive VM only for himself with his service onboard?! Or can I just apply fix rates?!

Some questions I hope to find an answer to here, because the manual does not provide me with this info and google cant tell me either.

Hello Again,

I have install CPMAN 3.0.6 and installed CPBM.

I can now login to CPBM when i go to all service enable cloudportal, and add a cloud portal server.

I have read alot about the difference parameters, and i am sure that i am usin the correct parameters.
SSO, API etc...

i get:
Failed to add Instance.

in the log file i get -> see the attached file

which does not help me very much.

Hello when i start cpbm on one of the serveres this are getting logged..

i have not jet run the "integrate with cloud stack yet"

Error: My Profile site is blank

I have downloaded and installed the CPBM 2.0.0-1 trial version package.

Then I have logged in as root user and clicked on My Profile. The rendered page is nearly empty (see attached screenshot CPBM20MyProfile.PNG). The source code of the page seems to be corrupted after line 996 (see attached file CPBM20MyProfile.html):

The next entries (for e.g. "Texas") are missing and the script tag is not closed. The result is not valid html. Can anyone confirm this issue?

Error: add new Service Provider User

I have downloaded and installed the CPBM 2.0.0-1 trial version package.

Then I have logged in as root user and have tried to add a new user (Administration -> Service Provider Users -> Add New). After that an error message is displayed in the browser:

In the cpbm-server.log there is an exception message:

Hello I am new to CloudPortal Businessmanager.
Here is what i have done.

Install 6 x CentOS6.4 VMs on a special Xenserver i thought they should be used like.
2 x MySQL 1 master + one slave = works
2 x Cloudportal 3.0.6 master servers = works
2 x Cloud portal business manager 2.0 = problems...

some questions.
should i install CPBM on the same servers as CP ?
If yes, how, i have tryed to installe like it sayes in the manual, but that does not work, then i can not
login the to either CP or CBPM, i was able to login to CP before.
do i have to install CAS ?
do i really need a proxy server, and is it correct understood sthat CP, CPBM use tomcat, and
in the instructions they use apache for the proxy. ?
When i install CPBM and a demo database can i see that on the central mysql server before i start the CPBM ?
i can not see any new databases.

Is the CPBM 2.0 compatible with CP3.0.6 ?

<p>Hi,</p><p>CPBM is the billing and metering solution for a Citrix cloud. If i am using XenApp to provide SaaS in my cloud, how can I meter and bill users using this service? Can I configure that in CPBM too or what can I do?</p>
