How to uninstall a connector?

How to uninstall a connector?

I installed an IaaS connector by by putting its jars in the "/usr/share/vts3/connectors" directory.

It all seems fine and the connector was working as expected.

But when I tried to remove it I I found out that just deleting it from "/usr/share/vts3/connectors" has no effect.

What is the right way to uninstall a connector?

I also tried to upgrade to a newer version by replacing the jar with new jars but again it seem like it had no effect.

How to uninstall a connector?

Hi Baybars,

Removing the connector jar from "/usr/share/vts3/connectors" directory is not sufficient to  uninstall the connector. In order to uninstall the connector you have to remove all references of the service from CPBM database tables. And if you have a service instance created for the connector then it becomes even more difficult to remove service references from DB.

As of now we do not support deleting/removing a service or service instance.

But as a workaround I would suggest you to take backup of the CPBM DB before placing the connector jar into the "/usr/share/vts3/connectors" directory and when you want to remove the connector then, stop the CPBM server,  revert the DB to the backup,  remove the connector jar from "/usr/share/vts3/connectors" directory and restart the CPBM server.

Thanks,

Manish

Hi Guy,

In our latest release CPBM 2.2 we have provided a script to delete any service or service instance. Please check the document at: http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/cpbm-22-map/cpbm-remove-service-completely-con.html .

Thanks,

Manish
