CPBM 2.1 - Active Subscriptions Incorrect

In CPBM 2.1 with ACS connector, as a user when I tried to Subscribe to a VM I received an email/message saying there was a provisioning error and the VM was not provisioned. Checking ACS, showed the VM under instances but with a State=ERROR. The VM was then deleted in ACS. However, the Active Subscriptions widget on the dashboard is still showing the VM as an active subscription (4 days later) even though it no longer exists.

I have attached the log from when the VM failed to provision.

How do I get the Active Subscriptions widget to reflect the correct number of VMs running in the account?

CPBM 2.1 - Active Subscriptions Incorrect

Hi Tariq,

Subscriptions and actual provisioned resource are decoupled. Even if the resource provisioning failed the subscription remains active and you can launch a resource again with the same subscription.

for more information please check: http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/cpbm-21-map/cpbm-browse-catalog-con.html

Thanks,
Manish

Hi Manish,

According to the documentation Utility ("Pay as you go") priced products can only be terminated and cannot be reprovisioned or reconfigured. In my case, I had a utility product that failed to provision and I therefore have no way to relaunch it, I can only terminate it. Is this behaviour by design and if so why can I not relaunch?

Also, if the catalog.payAsYouGoMode configuration parameter in CPBM 2.1 is set to false then are both "pay-as-you-go" and product bundles displayed to users?

Thanks.

tiqbal,

Since these resources are utility priced. There's no meaning to 'relaunching it' as the new VM will also be charged utility anyway. so there's no need to correlate the two resources. So, yes it is by design that there's no way to relaunch a resource in a utility subscription.

The pay-as-you-go vs bundle toggle is a toggle as in you get one or the other. In the bundle mode, you can still create utility payment models by explicitly creating a bundle with 'Monthly, no minimum recurring charges'.
