Publishing a bundle does not work

Publishing a bundle does not work

Hi,

I do want to publish a bundle.
When trying this on a bundle I created it says I have to define "current charges" by editing bundle pricing.
However the only option I see on a bundle perspective is to set the charge frequency (which is annual in this case).
The single products of the bundle so far don't have any pricing. E.g. there's a Template group with one Windows VM included which shows on the "product pricing" tab "Effective Date 07/31/2012". No option to change anything.

What am I missing here?
I checked documentation but haven't found a valid answer.

My intent is simple: Just want to create a catalog consisting of 1 VM which a user can select when creating a new instance.

Thanks & Regards,

Christian

When viewing the bundle details, please go to Plan->Set Plan date. This should let you add charges. After that step, you can then proceed to publish the bundle.

Thanks, this worked!

When setting a plan date I only can select the next available day.
Does this mean that I do have to wait 1 day until it gets active or is there a way to force it?

Hi Christian,

The plan date setting allows plans only for future and hence from tomorrow. But for first time use the flow is slightly different and there is an explicit 'Activate Now' button for products/bundles as well as for Catalog.

So you should set your prices for products and bundles. That would set it for tomorrow and once ready use 'Activate Now' functionality to have the plan ready immediately. You can then go ahead and publish the bundle.

Now plan the catalog , add bundle to catalog and 'Activate' the catalog and your accounts should now see the bundle and can launch VMs.

Thanks
Ashish

Thanks, Ashish!

Got one step further.
I created a channel and added a bundle on catalog tab.
Maybe I am blind, but I don't find the option to activate the catalog?

Hi Christian,

In the channels catalog tab check for current, history sub tabs. If they are present then your catalog is active. Else you should see an activate now link at the same drop down from where you added bundle to the catalog. Catalog activate link is not at top end (like in products/bundles) but inside catalog tab.

Thanks
Ashish

Hi Ashish,

thanks again!
I still don't get it fully:
- My catalog now shows up as current in the correct channel
- I created a retail account which is assigned to the very same channel
- Provided credit card information for the retail account

I still can't see any compute bundles when logging in as the master user of the retail account.

Apart from that when configuring a new catalog as next version I only can set the date for tomorrow. Don't see any option to activate immediately.

Will run through the docs again, but would be happy to get your help here again.

Actually I found it by the help from Oded:
I didn't have specified prices for the single products, though I did for the bundle.
After adding prices to the products it worked find.

Would be great include some check in the CPBM for this.

Thanks for your help!

Regards,

Christian
