CPBM add custom service

CPBM add custom service

Hi,

I tend to provision products such as ( web server based application , storage as a service ) with CloudPortal Business manager. So when a product is selected, it will be created into CloudStack instances.

I had a look into CPBM and I found two options : service bundle and workload and they destinated for AppCara and Caringo,
But I look to use an existant system to provision application other than AppCara and Caringo, I tend to integrate a provisioning engine for application that we use in our local environment

So, is there any possibilities to create a custom service into CPBM for provisioning application with the existant system ?
Also what kind of connector we will use to integrate the existant system ? ( shall we use API or SDK for this purpose ? ..)

I would be thankful for any help.

Best regards.

CPBM add custom service

Caringo and AppCara are just two examples. They are partners from the CloudStack ecosystem that offer STaaS and Application Lifecycle Management for workloads on CloudStack.

CPBM will be neutral to the choice of service - whether custom or from a vendor product - that needs to be vended through it. In CPBM, beginning the Danube release, it would become possible to vend any service so long as there is a connector to support it. The enabler in CPBM product for this would the CloudService SDK. It is with this that a DIY team from customer, ISV partner or implementation partner can write a connector to the specific service they want to onboard, merchandize, and vend through CPBM.

When Danube is available, the CloudService SDK should be the starting point for the use case you have mentioned to build your specific custom connector.

HI Balachander,

Thank you for reply , that's very helpful.

Is the current version of CPBM 1.4 support the service bundle of Caringo and AppCara ?

Best Regards.

The 1.4 integrations to Caringo and AppCara are very bespoke, the service bundles construct has been used to achieve this. Productization of these integrations (and with other similar ISV partners) as "CloudService Connectors" is what is being considered once Danube becomes available.
