I have installed:

serveral Xenserver 6.2, which are maintained by a

CCP 4.3.0.2 with a customer frontend

CPBM 2.3.1 Patch C, and a not yet ready integrated

CPSM 11.0

What I want to do ist, to update the XenServer to 6.5

My questions:

Is the CPBM 2.3.1 Patch C capable to operate with CCP 4.5?

Is the CPSM 11.0 (I want to upgrade to 11.5) capable to interacet with CCP 4.5?

Which order do I have to follow not to get into troubles with compatibility issues?

Hi All,

I am testing CloudPlatform and am having some problems with the Basic Networking. The networking seems to be working and the deployed Instances can ping the gateway etc and i can ping all Instances from outside the CloudPlatform environment. But the Instances can't ping each another... They are on the same Basic Shared network called defaultGuestNetwork and type is "Shared".

I'm not sure if this is by design or have i done something wrong ? Should the Instances be able to ping one another in this basic configuration ? This is a basic setup for our Developers to do some testing with and i would like all deployed Instances to be able to talk to each other.

Appreciate any feedback.

I am trying to get SSO working with CloudStack 4.4.2.

I am looking at the documentation

http://cloudstack-administration.readthedocs.org/en/latest/accounts.html#using-a-saml-2-0-identity-provider-for-user-authentication

but dont understand what I need to do.  I cant find any of the settings listed in the global settings options.  Do I need to install/enable the SAML2.0 plugin elsewhere before the settings become available.

Anyone who can advise in this area, your assistance would be greatly appriciated.

I've searched through all the docs I can find and can't seem to understand how the console proxy VM is used from an external address.  For starters, I only want to use it in http mode to make things simple.

I saw in the admin guide that the proper url would be http://<proxy vm public ip>/<token>

But there's no explanation of what the "token" is or where it comes from.  And what do you see when you go to that url?  How do you differentiate between the different VMs that are running?

I uploaded 3 different ISO images to our CCP environment.  One was a Clonezilla live CD, one was the Ubuntu 14.04 server ISO, and one was another system rescue CD.

The uploading process went fine with no errors and the new ISO's appeared in the list of available ISO images, however I was unable to attach any of those ISO's to a test Centos VM that I had created.  Whenever I would try, it would just attempt for about 5 minutes, then give me a generic error "could not attach iso image".  I also tried creating a new VM using the Clonezilla ISO as the template and that failed as well.

On our old XenServer/XenCenter setup, I had no problem using Clonezilla on the VMs.

I tried deleting and re-uploading the Clonezilla ISO several times using different OS Types.  The first time I told it to use Debian 7, as the Clonezilla ISO is the Debian based one.  The second time, I tried to use Centos 5.2 to match the VM (based on something I saw in the Cloud Stack docs regarding ISO's), and the third time, I just tried Other Linux 64 bit.  None of those worked.

What am I missing?  Shouldn't I be able to attach just about any ISO to a VM?

The problem seems to be related to a new problem I see today which is that I cannot create any VM from one of my uploaded templates either.  The error in the XenServer and management server logs indicates that it's unable to mount secondary storage (192.168.4.3/secondary), which is the correct address.  The secondary storage VM also mounts that NFS share and it has no trouble with it.  Only the XenServer seems to be having trouble with it.

I have uploaded my own SSL wildcard certificate using the instructions at:

I have updated UI and changed the consoleproxy.url.domain in Global Settings.

However, browsers are still giving certificate errors showing

"The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.realhostip.com, realhostip.com"

When I generated my csr and purchased a wildcart cert I used my own domain name but browsers are still picking up realhostip info.

I've also tried destorying the console proxy VM and including both intermediate certs when updating SSL through the UI.

CloudPlatform 4.5.0

Hosts: XenServer 6.5.0

By adding a VPN Connection in VPC I get the following error message
"The selected VPC does not have a VPN gateway. Please create a VPN gateway for the VPC first."

VPN Gateway is available available on the router in the VPC

Customer VPN gateway created via the following way
- Adding the VPN gateways under the menu item networks> VPN gateways Customer

After the error message
+ VPN Gateway deleted and tried VPN Connection re-add - no change

Any Ideas?

I have a CloudStack 4.4.2 environment set up and the last thing I need to do is secure it with SSL.

I have already bought and installed an SSL certification for the CloudStack web UI but I am having issues configuring SSL properly for the console proxy VM.

I have referenced the following two guides for enabling SSL for console proxy VM.

After updating SSL in the CloudStack UI and changing the consoleproxy.url.domain in Global Settings, I can see that the URL for the console proxy domain now comes up as:

https://<ip>-<ip>-<ip>-<ip>.mydomain.com

According to the guides, that is the correct format for the https url of the console proxy vm.

However, when trying to access the console of a VM it shows the message "Server refused connection."

Any help on what could be wrong is much appreciated.

I am working on a program to create a billing report for cloudstack.  The way that the company wants to bill customers has me trying to find a way to associate snapshots and ISO's with individual VM's (rather than just the customer's account) using the usage data that I obtain through API calls.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Is it possible?

I have successfully installed Cloudstack 4.4.2 KVM on centOS and made several instances. I would like to know how to give my instances a public IP from the pool of available IPs that i have. Do i have to have to make a new zone and a host? Do i have to add a new physical network? Please help!!

                Today,I install the cloudplatform4.5,I find that the password for the system vm have change.

Who can tell me the password for the system vm  cloudplatform4.5.

I have created a test environment to learn CloudPlatform with XenServer.

The test environment consists of the CentOS6.3 server with CloudPlatform 4.3.0.2 installed, I have

seeded the template using system64vmtemplate-2014-09-30-4.3-xen.vhd.bz2. During the seed template process I did see a "scheme missing" error but it still installed so the secondary storage.

I have another server running CentOS6.3 that acts as a NFS server and has folders for primary and secondary storage.

I have a third server running XenServer 6.2 that has an additional 400GB local storage.

Under Infrastructure, I was able to successfully create a Zone, Pod, Cluster and Host. In addition, I can see Primary and Secondary storage under Infrastructure. 

I see two VMs, one is the Console Proxy VM and the other is Secondary Storage VM both in stopped state. If I try to start the Console Proxy VM I get a "Job failed due to exception Unable to create a deployment fir VM [ConsoleProxy | v-2-VM] 

If I go into XenCenter after Zone creation, I see two new drives with long alphanumeric names.

Attached is the management-server.log from the CloudPlatform Management server.

I have built a test CloudPlatform 4.3 environment consisting of a CloudPlatform Mgmt server, NFS Server, and XenServer. The CloudPlatform Mgmt and NFS server are running on CentOS 6.3. The XenServer is running 6.2

In CloudPlatform manager, I was able to successfully create a Zone, Pod, Cluster and connected to my XenServer host. I was able to mount my Primary and Secondary Storage as well. If I click System VMs I see one or two VMs in "Stopped" state. If I try to start the one labeled Console Proxy VM I get this error:

Status: Job failed due to exception, unable to create a deployment for VM[ConsoleProxy|v-89-VM]

In XenServer I do not see any VMs, only two new drives with a long alphanumeric numbers as their name.

I can submit logs for review, but will need to know where to locate the logs an their name.

I've been trying with both Cloudstack 4.4.1 and the trial of CloudPlatform, but the result is the same.

I'm following this documentation...

...which is the most recent and comprehensive I've been able to found.

So.. I install Xenserver 6.2, all by default and it creates 4 bridges: xenbr0-3 because I've got 4 interfaces:

-1 for public internet ip addressing

-1 for internal addressing (192.x.x.x)

-2 for storage. these interfaces are usually used (and our current production environment) in bonding for providing storage for the vms through NFS. Right now, I can reach the cloudstack management server and the storage servers (both primary and secondary) through these 2 NICs.

so... I've tried to add this xenserver as a host and I haven't been successful, so let me ask you two things:

1. with this layout I just told you... which should be the management interface? may be none and I should use a different one?

2. Do I have to create the cloud-public and cloud-private bondings? If I don't do that, cloudstack won't add the host, but If I do, the hosts is added but system vms won't boot and the configuration wizard will freeze at "creating system vms".

That documentation is the only I've been able to find and it doesn't cover all these doubts, can you point me in the right direction to understand the proper network setup I need?

I am using cloudstack(4.4.1) with KVM host. I have a L3 switch - partitioned to 4 vlans 
public(CIDR:-192.168.1.0/24)
guest vlan (CIDR:-10.0.0.0/24)
management vlan (CIDR:-10.0.1.0/24)
storage vlan (CIDR:-10.0.2.0/24)

I have a kvm host with four physical NICS that a connected in switch and each NIC is connected in each different vlan.
I have created bridge over each physical nics:-
Cloudrbr0:-ip address:-10.0.0.24 connected on the port of the switch belongs to guest vlan)
Cloudbr1:-ip address:-10.0.1.24  (connected on the port of the switch belongs to management vlan)
Cloudbr2:-ip address:-10.0.2.24 (connected on the port of the switch belongs to storage vlan)
Cloudbr3:-ip address:-192.168.1.24  (connected on the port of the switch belongs to public vlan)

I have a physical machine with four NICS and CloudStack management is installed on it and four NICS are connected in four vlans with ip.
=>I have created a zone with advanced networking and everything been success so far.

when I created two instances(guests) on kvm host,  I can ping this instances with each other.( guest1/ guest2)
i.e
Instance1:-ip address:-10.0.0.90
Instance2:-ip address:-10.0.0.91
Virtual router:-ip address:-10.0.0.4
Now when I tried to ping /ssh the guest from a laptop attached in same vlan (guest vlan) , I canât ping guests.
From the laptop , I can ping 10.0.0.24 ( my cloudbr0 ip â in KVM host machine) , but cant ping/ssh any guest.
There is no firewall issues - i checked.

I have attached a network diagram also for better understanding of issues.

Could you please help me so that I can ping /ssh to any guest from any machine in guest vlan.

   My environment information is as follows?

1. I Have one  cloudplatform4.3.0.2 setup with at  2 advanced zones.
2. Enable each zone with Netscaler(NSVPX-ESX-10.5-52.1115.e_nc) with GSLB
3. As a root user, create a GSLB rule
4. assign one LB rule (bj-ssh) from zone1.
5. assign another LB(nj-ssh) rule from another zone2.

6.In the region,assign more load balancing, select bj-ssh or nj-ssh in the Load balancing rule.

Hi ,

I keep doing many configuration and while doing that , so often , i flush the database , start from scratch and recreate zone again. Is there any facility like exporting a zone config to a xml file and then can reimport - may be in disabled state even.

CloudStack 4.3.0, XenServer 6.2.0, SecondaryStorage's - NFS

After make snapshots of Volume in CloudStack Primary Storage don't move snapshot file to Secondary Storage. Also on Secondary Storage created /snapshots/7/30/asdf786asd98f6asd8f6.vhd file, but size of it very small, for example Volume is 20Gb but .vhd may be about 2Gb.

Where is may be problem?

I have a bug with revert to snapshot for just ONE snaphost.

Steps to reproduce :

With CloudStack 4.4 and now CloudStack 4.4.1 released and CloudPlatform still being on 4.3.0.1, I was wondering if the past alignment of the equivalent 4.x CloudPlatform releases has come to an end as a general long term change of plans or if there are ...specific factors... related to CloudStack 4.4.x as a reason.

Any feedback from the Citrix team would be much appreciated!
