View Console oddity with Moving screen while attempting to click button

We are having reported issues with users connecting to the Console Proxy with out any issues, but when they attempt to click on the Ctrl-Alt-Del button( or any button) to initiate a login the Console screen jumps down and the button is never clicked. Its as if the Click event is being captured but not associating it with the button but with the scroll down button.  This seems to happen when users have a resolution set to a smaller size than what the viewer thinks.

is there a work around?  Some people can not up the size of the resolution to accommodate the AjaxViewer so that it would fill the entire screen.

We're running 4.0.3.1 with XenServer 6.2 with all the updates to SP1-008

vm system with agent state (-) none

Hi community !

I use cloudstack 4.4 on centos with xenserver 6.2.

I created a advanced zone without security group. I have 3 nics :

- nics 1 for guest network and administration network.

- nics 2 for public network

- nics 3 for storage network.

I have a primary storage iscsi and my secondary storage locate on NFS server.

I followed installation instruction (vhd-utils, cloud-install-sys-tmplt ...)

When I working my zone, two vm created (secondary storage and console proxy) but agent state none (attach file 1)

I logged in Secondary Storage VM i try "ping 8.8.8.8" = ok but "ping www.google.fr" failed with DNS 8.8.8.8 of course.

When I created a advanced zone WITH security group. I don't have problems with System'vm. Agents of system'vm work normaly. I can download iso, template, to create VM ....

The only difference is to add the nic public network.

Where I can look for to help ?

Thanks for your help !

Cloudstack integration with RabbitMQ

Cloudstack integration with RabbitMQ

Hi there,

I have a Cloudstack instance running v4.3.

On a separate server, I have setup RabbitMQ, running on CentOS 6.5 by following the steps below:

rpm -ivh http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/$(arch)/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

sudo yum install -y erlang

rpm --import http://www.rabbitmq.com/rabbitmq-signing-key-public.asc
sudo yum install -y rabbitmq-server.noarch

sudo chkconfig rabbitmq-server on

I've opened port 5672 through the firewall solely to the Cloudstack instance.

I have permitted remote users to connect with the following configuration:

cat /etc/rabbitmq/rabbitmq.config

[

  {rabbit, [{loopback_users, []}]}

].

I have removed the guest user, created a new user, provided that user with administrator privileges and allowed that user permissions over the default zone '/'

rabbitmqctl add_user rabbituser password123

rabbitmqctl set_user_tags rabbituser administrator

set_permissions -p / rabbituser ".*" ".*" ".*"

I have setup the following file on my Cloudstack instance and restarted Cloudstack:

cat /etc/cloudstack/management/componentContext.xml

<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans";

       xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";

       xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context";

       xmlns:aop="http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop";

       xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans

                           http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd

                           http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop

                           http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop/spring-aop-3.0.xsd

                           http://www.springframework.org/schema/context

                           http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.0.xsd";>

    <bean id="eventNotificationBus" class="org.apache.cloudstack.mom.rabbitmq.RabbitMQEventBus">

        <property name="name" value="eventNotificationBus"/>

        <property name="server" value="192.168.1.12"/>

        <property name="port" value="5672"/>

        <property name="username" value="rabbituser"/>

        <property name="password" value="password123"/>

        <property name="exchange" value="cloudstack-events"/>

    </bean>

</beans>

sudo /etc/init.d/cloudstack-management stop && sudo /etc/init.d/cloudstack-management start

I can telnet from the Cloudstack instance to the RabbitMQ instance on port 5672 successfully.

I have then used tcpdump on both the Cloudstack instance and the RabbitMQ instance to look for traffic on port 5672 but there is none. Nothing is initiated by the Cloudstack instance.

Is /etc/cloudstack/management/componentContext.xml the correct location for this file? I cannot see anything erroneous in the cloudstack-management log file that shows it being picked up at all.

Have I missed something or is there a more verbose guide available than those detailed at http://cloudstack.apache.org/docs/en-US/Apache_CloudStack/4.1.1/html/Admin_Guide/events.html ?

Thanks

Quick Install for test enviroment

Hi all,

I following the quick install guide to test out Citrix CloudPlatform.

I am up to box/step 9 where it says to do the following:

/usr/share/cloudstack-common/scripts/storage/secondary/cloud-install-sys-tmplt -m /mnt/secondary/ -u http://download.cloud.com/templates/4.2/systemvmtemplate-2013-07-12-master-xen.vhd.bz2 -h xenserver -F

Once I issue that, it then results in this error after a few seconds:

rm: cannot remove `/mnt/secondary/template/tmpl/1/1//a0bd9d62-8fdb-46e8-a9c2-7e8a4b189a39.vhd': Permission denied
rm: cannot remove `/mnt/secondary/template/tmpl/1/1//template.properties': Permission denied
Failed to clean up template directory /mnt/secondary/template/tmpl/1/1/ -- check permissions?
Installation failed

I have tried manually deleting them as well but no go. Would appreciate any help anyone can give. Willing to pay for support as well.

Thanks

Xendestkop 7.5's connection to CloudPlatform

Xendestkop 7.5's connection to CloudPlatform

Hi,

I have a question regarding the XD7.5's integration with Cloudplatform.

Suppose I have an on-premise VDI infrastructure with XD7.5 (including Controller/StoreFront) and Vsphere. All the virtual desktops were deployed using MCS in the site.

Now if I installed a CloudPlatform farm, adding the same vsphere hosts into Cloudplatform as the compute resouce. Then, can I create a new host connection with Cloudplatform type, to that Cloudplatform farm?

If so, will the existing desktops (independant of Cloudplatform) continued to be accessible  afterwards?

The idea is to understand how much effort is required to migrate existing on-premise VDI infrastructure to Cloudplatform, and whether it's worth a complete tear down and rebuild.

Thanks

Snapshots not being moved to secondary storage

Hello,

I seem to have an issue with snapshots not being moved to secondary storage, they stay in Primary on the host node. I have also noticed a couple of templates in Primary also. Everything seems to be set up correctly and there are actually one or two recent snapshots in Secondary storage (there are roughly 40 VMs within cloudstack) taken by clients. Has anybody happened to come across this issue before?

Cheers!

Virtual Router on VMware source NAT not applying

Hi All,

I’ve encountered a strange issue whereby egress firewall rules don’t seem to apply to any CloudPlatform VRs that are running on our VMware cluster, whereas any CloudPlatform VRs running on our XenServer cluster work as expected (these are in the same and only zone). Even more strangely, port forwarding and ingress firewall rules do apply correctly in either scenario.

Has anyone encountered anything similar or has any troubleshooting tips for this? I have confirmed WAN connectivity, etc. from the VRs console and can see that there’s no matching entry in the iptables.

We are running Citrix CloudPlatform 4.3.0.1.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Eric

Deletion Process - Expunged or Destroy

Can anyone clarify what the deletion process in terms of stages...

Basically when i run a "select * from volumes"

Some are set in a Destroy state (inc all recent ones) and some are "Expunged". Which shpould they be ? i thought it was expunged, so could the Destroy ones be taking up space unnecessarily ?

Hello!

I am writing a new authentication adapter as well as new encryptor for the passwords.

What version of CloudStack the adapter should be compactible with? As in CS version 4.3 it includes "ActionOnFailedAuthentication" parameter added, and I am not sure if CloudPlatform 4.3 includes this feature.

SR_BACKEND_FAILURE44 Insufficient Space

SR_BACKEND_FAILURE44 Insufficient Space

2 Xenservers 5.6, using Dell Equalogic iSCSI SAN storage. There are 4 SR's that are presented to the cluster. All have a lot of VMs running but there is some space available and we arent hitting the disable thresholds.

However i cannot create any VMs - this has got worse since upgrading the system VMs (These were stuck on v3 and not 4.2). I was getting errors pointing to an issue with VHD-Util so i recopied that to the hosts and the errors are now like Host Plugin Failures and SR_BACKEND_ERROR44 Insufficient Space.

The SR it was trying to use was full but shouldnt it try and use one of the others ?

Also ive noticed we have quite a few volumes that are in the "Destroy" state when you check the DB - before and after the System VM upgrades. Shouldnt these say "Expunged" ?

I seem to go from one issue to another so any help would be appreciated as at the moment i cant create anything despite 2 of the SRs having space.

Thanks!

FTP - Active Mode ??

FTP - Active Mode ??

Hi,

We have v4.2.0 running on 2 XenServer hosts (5.6).

The cient machines (win 7) use FTP via command line to access our domain FTP server. These machines are on our domain and act as an "Office PC" for our remote workers. They are uising FTP to test functionaility of software they develop

They have acess to all resources and have been working fine. The issue is that the connection drops when connecting via cmd line FTP. It connects ok and takes the credentials but when you try and list files it disconnects. This seems a common windows issue BUT.....

This has worked previously. The only thing i can think of that has occured since this "broke" is i had to recreate the system VMs and destroy all VR's. This was because of troubleshooting other issues i found that the System VMs were stuck on v3.0 rather than 4.2 so i followed the procedure to upgrade.

Could this be the reason? I have allowed all ports in the VM network rules and it makes no difference. Its as though that channel that active mode opens, cant communicate.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

SSVM says "Stopping" "Disconnected" HELP!

Hi,

We had to shutdown our VMs and hosts, but the process failed on several VM's that were stuck. After a reboot the hosts are up and VMs are started up but the Secondary Storage VM is stuck saying "Stopping".

There are no options to delete it, restart it etc, its in limbo

The secondary storage is hosted on the Management Server (CentOS 6.4), and the two hosts are XenServer 6.0.2

Can anyone help, ive found various posts but nothing exactly the same, usually they say to try commands such as ssvm-check but i cant see this.

Does it need a MySQL hack to change the status or manually destroy the VM?

I have checked the NFS path is accessible by adding it to XenCenter and can browse contents fine.

Thank you

Development of Plugin in 4.3

Hello!

Is there a possibility and any guidelines to add some new plugins for the CloudPlatform 4.3.
Both for Interface and for API development.

Have seen some guidelines for CloudStack version 4.2, but in 4.3, as I understand, there are some changes in Framework ( Spring is used in 4.3 ), so these guidelines won't work out anymore.

In any case Thanks in Advance

Wildcard Certificate

Hi!

I am using CCP 4.3.0, and want to implement my own *.mydomain.tld wildcard certificate.

Q1: is there any way to store the decryprion key, or is it mandatory to decrypt it before?

Q2: where do I store my intermediate certificate, which is provided from GODADDY, for finding the CA of wildcardCerts?

Q3:  Logging means, it created a file:

2014-06-24 13:32:58,179 INFO  [c.c.s.ConfigurationServerImpl] (main:null) SSL keystore located at /etc/cloudstack/management/cloudmanagementserver.keystore,

but it isn't there:

[root@SL-CCP01 management]# more  /etc/cloudstack/management/cloudmanagementserver.keystore
/etc/cloudstack/management/cloudmanagementserver.keystore: No such file or directory

Any ideas?

Hello, people.
We tested new version 4.3 on our ESXi both ver. 5.1\5.5 and get the same problem.
After successfully installation dont start System VMs:
1. Created.

2. Copy settings to them.

3. But instead of starting replace to another Host.
4. In logs on first Host info something like "not found VM", deleting VM on second Host and and so cyclically.

Unfortunately, we do not have full logs.

Hi,

I have also changed the Dom0 memory to 2940M and vhd-util is also copying on both Cloudstack server and XenServer.

Need help here.

CCP VPN CIDR RFC1918

Hi,
I'm trying to setup a VPN to a remote subnet that doesn't use a private IP address.
Is there any way to overcome the limitation of the VPN CIDR needing to be in this range?

Thanks

Palo Alto Firewall

Any word on when Palo Alto Firewalls will be supported?

I see there is some stuff in CloudStack docs, but see nothing in CloudPlatform docs.

Thanks!

Cannot add VMFS datastore as primary storage

First, myself and my shop are new to clouplatform, so please bear with me.  We are however very experienced with VMware\ESXi.  I have a new cloudplatform environment being setup.  The hypervisors are VMware ESXi 5.1, and vCenter 5.1. During initial configuration, I selected advanced network deployment.  Running through the initial setup, all resources add successfully until we get to primary storage.   When attempting to add the Primary storage, an alert is immediately generated under general alerts on the dashboard stating "Host - Unable to attach storage poolxx to host1 (Timestamp)".  This error repeats each time the procedure is attempted.  The pool number increments up each time an attempt is made.  The management server lives on the same management vlan as the ESXi hosts.  The management server also has confirmed access to vCenter on 443.  This is not a vCenter permissions issue as we have tested this using full vCenter privs as well.  I have been working with Citrix support for well over a month on something I believe is probably a very simple issue.  Anyone have any ideas?  I would be happy to supply more information upon request.  Thanks in advance!
