Trying to install the CloudPortal-1.4.5-CCP306-compatibility, tried following the instructions but is there a step missing?

After extracting the tar file nothing is done with its contents - I assume they need to be cp'd?

1. Download the compatibility pack: CloudPortal-1.4.5-CCP306-compatibility.tar.gz

2. Copy the downloaded file to CPBM server's /tmp directory.

3. cd /usr/share/cloud/portal/ directory

4. Stop the cloud-portal service
service cloud-portal stop

5. untar the patch using:
tar -zxvf /tmp/CloudPortal-1.4.5-CCP306-compatibility.tar.gz

6. Clear the directory /var/cache/cloud/portal/work
rm -rf /usr/share/cloud/portal/work/*

7. Start the cloud-portal service
service cloud-portal start

Catalog bundles not showing for tenants

Catalog bundles not showing for tenants

In a fresh install of CPBM 1.4.5, created/published new bundles and added/activated the new catalog. When browsing the catalog as a anonymous user from the link on the login screen all the new bundles are visible.

However, when logged in as a tenant and clicking Launch VM to view the catalog no bundles appear. All the bundles are published and have pricing as does the rate card and the current catalog shows the bundles when viewed by root.

Any ideas what the problem can be or what to check?

Customer Dashboard displays only Virtual Machines

I'm facing an issue with CloudPortal Business Manager 1.4 where using some browsers such as IE 9 and Chrome, the customer account dashboard shows only Virtual Machines, and it's missing Storage, Network Utilization, Number of IP's, budget, etc.

Example screenshots (missing and good) attached. Has anyone seen this and found a solution ?

CPBM add custom service

Hi,

I tend to provision products such as ( web server based application , storage as a service ) with CloudPortal Business manager. So when a product is selected, it will be created into CloudStack instances.

I had a look into CPBM and I found two options : service bundle and workload and they destinated for AppCara and Caringo,
But I look to use an existant system to provision application other than AppCara and Caringo, I tend to integrate a provisioning engine for application that we use in our local environment

So, is there any possibilities to create a custom service into CPBM for provisioning application with the existant system ?
Also what kind of connector we will use to integrate the existant system ? ( shall we use API or SDK for this purpose ? ..)

I would be thankful for any help.

Do we have documentation which explains how the campaigns/promotions/discounts work for the billing?

When we create a promotion does the discount level within the promotion applies to the customers entire bill or its it only applied to services signed up after the promotion started (so existing subscriptions will not be discounted)? Also does this apply to utility and subscription items? Compute and service bundles?

Scenario:
Promotion was created for 15 days with 50% discount. The user registers on 1st Jan'2013 with the promotion. And 1st Jan itself he enrolls for:
a) Utility based VM - $1/hr (assuming 744 hrs in the month = $744 for the month)
b) Monthly based VM - $30/month
c) Service bundle - $30/month

Please let us know the following based on scenario:
a) How much would be charged for the subscriptions and why?
b) Is promotion applied on total invoice amount?
c) If answer to (b) is "no" then If billing feeds are being provided from CPBM to external systems then how to handle the promotion amounts?

How is it different from discounts?

Actions while impersonating a customer is not audited as the SP user

When impersonating a user is CPBM and performing an action, such as creating or destroying a VM instance, this is logged as an action performed by the customers master user and not the SP user impersonating the customer account. Can this logging be changed to record that the actions performed by the SP user on behalf of the customer?

Failed to create scheduled tasks

Failed to create scheduled tasks

This is a new installation. Roles have been deployed without any problems. However I have a problem on configuration the provisioning server. It is failing to create scheduled tasks. If i go into scheduled tasks in windows the folder sturcutre has been created, however no tasks are created.

This is the error from the log file:

Hi Team,

I'm following Doc http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/cloudportalbusiness-14/ccpb-install.html

I am running CPBM version 1.4.1 and CS 3.0.5

I want to enable LDAP Authentication against Active Directory domain.

To enable LDAP, I have set the ldap.enable in the CPBM UI to true.

I have also added ldap details in the cloud.properties file

ldap.url=ldap://hostnameofmyDC:389
ldap.base=DC=orkki,DC=local
ldap.userdn=CN=ldapread,OU=CPBM,,DC=orkki,DC=local.password=ldapread

My channel is named as CPBM ib CPBM Ui.

Whent trying to login in with domain credentials located in CPBM OU I'm just getting error message that user account cannot be found. There are no infromation of the LDAP configuration details in catalina.out log file. How can I ensure that the LDAP configuraiton is activated?

Hi,

I'm setting up CPBM 1.4 with CP 3.05 in my lab enviroment. I was able get integration to work and I was able to login in to CPBM with default root credetials. The integration between CP worked intilally fine as I was able to retrieve data to the dashboard view. On the second login attempt CPSM started to ask for captcha's and after that I was not able to login in anymore. I even tried the password reset funtion, but as my installation is just plain default I have no idea where to what email reset link was sent to?

I asume that the account is now locked out and I was wodering that is there a way to check the status of root account and unlock it manually? I followed the basic troubleshooting help from edocs with no success.

Hi,

We are evaulating the Citrix cloud portal 1.4.

As per the installtion guide we have successfully installed the Citrix cloud portal 1.4 on CentOS 6.2.

But we are not able to access the portal with URL http://<IP Address>:8080/Portal.

We have also checked the CAS URL http://<IP Address>:8080/cas which is accessible but after loging with root user it will not display anything.

Please help to resolve this issue.

Hey all,

i setup Cloud Plattform 3.0.5 with the option "cloud-setup-databases" and i use the option for Management server key and for database key.

When I use the install script of CPBM 1.4.4 to configure CPBM, there is a point in the setup which is called

"Provide CloudPortal Security Settings"

Cloud Portal Encryption Key [AlphaMango654321]:

So my question is, for what is this key used? must this the same key as i used for CCP setup as database key?

The documentation says nothing about the key and for what is it used...

I have a list of questions here that I have not been able to find answers too. Can anyone here help me out?
* When a user launches a VM is there a way for them to be able to know the speed of the vCPU? Say for example one service offerings has a vCPU at 1GHz and another has a vCPU at 1.66GHz, is it possible on the CPBM launch VM screen to distinguish between the speed of the cores?
* Is it possible for an existing account in CPBM to be associated with a campaign? I can't find how to do that. I can't even find how to associated a campaign during the user signup process. Maybe the user has to use a barcode reader to use a campaign?
* The Bandwidth product in CPBM is associated with what type of traffic? Is it only routed traffic that goes through a VR? Is it possible to distinguish between public traffic and inter-zone traffic and bill different rates depending on its destination? Is there any way to bill the traffic between two VMs on the same network?
* The billing units for some products are not necessarily cumulative. Obviously the hours a VM is running is, but products like Secondary Storage have a billing unit of GB-Month. The amount stored on Secondary Storage could be changing all the time, so how is that actually calculated? Is there an event system or a polling system that periodically checks the usage per account and then records the usage a that point in time? The mechanism for how the usage is billed in these cases is not obvious. Load Balancering is another example, it uses Policy-Month as a billing unit.
* Is there a way to cap the amount of a specific product an account can use? Is there anything stopping a single user from using all of the secondary storage for example? Limiting IP space is another big one. How are caps implemented in CPBM?
* Lets assume that a specific compute bundle includes 200 hours per month of some running VM. Is there any way for a user to know how much of the bundled usage they have consumed for the current month?

When going to Administrator --> Service Provider users --> Edit the root user
the subsequent menu with the root user details does not show up, a blank page is presented.
Same is true when moving to email addresses.

What could be the reason for this?
In the customer network we use a proxy which might not expose all ports from the internet. We saw that the page tries to access google analytics and gravatar. May it be that some ports could not be accessed or one of these pages is blocked by the proxy?

What exactly do we have to release in the proxy and why are we contacting google analytics?

I installed the cpman 3.0.3 successful and wanna integrate with cpbm. My cpbm version is 1.4.2. Taking more than 2 days troubleshooting, i would like to post my issue to be supported.
Following is my topology and configuration
172.20.114.178: cpbm (CentOS 6.3 x64, cpbm 1.4.2)
172.20.114.179: cpman (CentOS 6.3 x64, cpman 3.0.3)

.179 - *cpman*:
integration.api.port = 8096
install cloud usage monitor
configure database (cpbm, Citrix123)
accept port 3306 and 8096 (iptables rule)
install "integrate with cloudstack" option (Cloudportal)

.178 - *cpbm*:

install httpd, sendmail, ntpd and configure
install database server (option D) and configure database user "cloud" /cloud
install CloudPortal Business Manager (option I) successful and configure cloud.properties.
configure /etc/httpd/http.conf/cloud.conf for proxy 8080

I also attach the files on this threat. The output of catalina.out showed that something wrong in java such as
INFO: Failed to find class sun.rmi.transport.Target to clear context class loader. This is expected on non-Sun JVMs.

CloudPortal 1.4 Install Fails

On a fresh install of CentOS 6.3 plus MySql 5.1, I run the CloudPortal 1.4 install (CloudPortal-1.4.4-1-centos.tar.gz). During the package installs, I see invalid mirror url messages (see below). I believe the mirror issues are coming from the jpackage yum dependencies. Tomcat failed to install. Then, when it gets to the configuration step, because packages failed to install, it can't find the cloud.properties file. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Is it possible to leverage Private resources, such as private Compute Offering, Disk Offering, or Private Shared Network in CPBM?

For example, what is the process to expose a private shared network which was created in CS for a specific Account (account created in CS by CP)?

Same for private compute offering and disk offering created for a specific account?
